The next meeting of the

WALDRINGFIELD WILDLIFE GROUP

is on Sat 12th October at 11am

         Non members and visitors welcome
for a small charge of £2.00 per person.

Our speaker will be Waldringfield Resident Christine Fisher Kay who will update the group on the scope and outcome of The Suffolk Hedgerow Survey, led and coordinated by Guy Atkins.

The Suffolk Hedgerow Working Group was set up in 1998 and the survey of Suffolk's Hedgerows was completed in 2012. Christine was one of the volunteers who helped coordinate the survey in our local parishes. 317 surveys were completed; 38,000 hedgerows were surveyed and 5,700 boundaries without hedgerows were also surveyed.  This was a truly monumental piece of work and we hope will be one that will inform Suffolk County Council in its Action Plan to promote and protect Suffolk's bio-diversity.
