IN HEALTH AND IN SICKNESS

The History of The Bartlet
By Suzanne Hawkes

Tuesday 25th June

7.45pm in The Village Hall

Tickets £8/9 from 01394279613

Built from the legacy and vision of a great Ipswich surgeon, The Bartlet Convalescent Home was the much loved heart of community health care for the East Suffolk Area from 1926 until 2008 when it was closed and the building put up for sale.
This play traces the history of The Bartlet and the man behind the vision, through the eyes of those who were part of its life from the early days of Arthur Griffiths to the patients and their relatives, the medical practitioners and those who desperately fought to save it, and other community hospitals, from closure.

With humour, pathos and live music from `The Bartlet Sisters' – this play will bring back memories and make new ones.

In association with the Bartlet Bequest Action Group
Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund - All our Stories
