Day out to Staveton Park and The Thicks

The Waldringfield Wildlife Group has organised a guided tour of Wantisden Farm with tractor and trailer for transport.  The Farm has 240 acres of woodland that is now SSSI comprising of Staverton Park and The Thicks.  The park itself is the largest area of ancient pollarded Oaks in Europe.  The farm has developed over 6.5 miles of underground irrigation mains and 50 acres of lakes to provide a  secure water supply and a wonderful habitat for wildlife.  Wantisden farm is a LEAF demonstration farm.  The estate is close to Butley located in the Wantisden Valley.  Car share will be arranged.  Additional places are available for non members.   Please contact the Coordinator of the WWG Linda Wilkins by email or telephone 01473 736044 if you would like to join us.
